International students are welcome to apply to Western Michigan University for undergraduate scholarships. A one-time partial tuition award based on first-time international students is available through the WMU Global Education Merit Scholarship.

Western Michigan University is a US public research university in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Governor Aaron T. Bliss founded it in 1903 as the Western State Normal School with the intention of training teachers. 1957 saw a name change to Western Michigan University. Western is one of the eight research universities in Michigan’s “R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity.”
Offering 147 undergraduate degree programs, 73 master’s degree programs, 30 doctoral programs, and one specialized degree program, the university comprises seven degree-granting colleges. It is run by an eight-member board of regents, whose members are chosen for eight-year terms by the Michigan Senate and confirmed by the governor of Michigan.

Scholarship Qualifications:
To be eligible for consideration for the Western Michigan University Global Education Merit Scholarships, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
- Candidates must have gotten undergraduate admissions offer from Western Michigan University in order to be considered for the 2024 academic year.
- must have graduated from accredited schools with the necessary certificates.
- Must be admitted as an international student to pursue a full-time course in the United States.

Guidelines for Scholarship Applications:
Those who are interested in applying for the Western Michigan University Global Education Merit Scholarship must first apply to be admitted to the university to enroll in full-time undergraduate courses. Scholarships are given out on a merit-based basis by a committee after full admission to WMU. An additional application is not required.
